Coffee Ice Cream

We were suppose to make it for Daniel’s birthday, but… time ran out and coffee cake had to do.  Having all the ingredients still on hand, we went ahead and made our coffee ice cream a few days later.  The recipe we used called for warming real coffee beans in heavy cream and milk for an hour; the house smelled better than Starbuck’s!   And, the ice cream…

Absolutely excellent!  I can’t find the recipe we used… sorry!  We added our favorite cookies, as well.  (Allison doesn’t like coffee, so she had some leftover lemon ice cream with lemon cookies.)  Have you tried Quadratini’s?  They’re the only store-bought cookie I love.

One of my favorite parts of homemade ice cream is enjoying the leftover heavy cream in my morning coffee.  It’s the little things… 🙂
